Laura's Star Production shots

We would like to introduce you to a delightful, gentle and magical play for younger audiences – Laura’s Star, based on the award-winning picture book of the same name.Laura has always wanted someone special to share her secrets with. One night she finds a star lying, broken, on the pavement. Tenderly, she takes the star home and as it glows warmly in her hand, she knows that she will be able to tell it all her secrets. But when she wakes up next morning, the little star has disappeared - was her special friend just a dream? In this magical story a lonely girl learns that friendship sometimes means letting go of your most precious treasures.

This is a very exciting UK/Singapore joint project, with both British and Singapore Actors working together with a British Director to produce a wonderful children’s theatre performance. Klaus Baumgart (Author of the story book) is one of the most internationally renowned Picture Book artists with over 2 million picture books sold world-wide. In 1999 he became the first German Author to be nominated for the English ‘Children’s Book Award.’ When asked what secret lay behind the success of his books Baumgart answered “Despite cultural differences, a child’s spirit is essentially the same world-wide and the idea that ‘every child has its own star’ is relevant to children across the world”. Length: 45/50 minutes with live music
Some responses from audience who saw the UK production:

We loved the gentle, thought provoking humanity and the fantastic responses you drew from the children.
The children said it was ''well cool''. Even the youngest were transfixed. Just the right level, beautifully done. Something in it for everyone (adults too)
The children and staff were entertained & enthralled for the whole hour. Superb as usual. Thank you.
