| Fun - that is the element that is missing in many of the plays that I attend. It was most refreshing then, to see the ensemble of players for Sparkleshark having a ball. Not only was the performance high energy, but the obvious enjoyment of the cast made the play more palatable to an audience that was mostly teens and pre-teens... Brownie points go to the cast for its earnest and enthusiastic acting. (Suhaila Sulaiman, The Straits Times, 31 March 2001) |

| Imaginarts’ Sparkleshark is a sparkling comedy of errors with a message. Though the set was somewhat minimal, it was functional and served its purpose. Lighting effects were put to good use, especially in one of the fight scenes, where flashing white light was used to effectively simulate combat in slow motion… The wonderful performance…included a Stomp!-inspired scene where the cast banged out a rhythm on pails, oil-drums and the like. The acting was decent and the entire cast did a better-than-average job at simulating British accents… if Sparkleshark was set in its native England, then like its name suggests, it certainly sparkles. (Aaron Lye, The Business Times, 7 April 2001) This was a sincere, passionate and highly entertaining production; delivering some of the human complexity of the text, but much more of the magic.
