What were
you doing before you started acting?
I was a mechanical engineer in charge of dismantling state of the art
equipments with a Japanese MNC before I caught the acting bug.
How did it all begin?
In 1995, I took part or should I say my mother and sister 'forced' me
to join a talent contest known as the Fame Awards conducted by TCS. I
was then offered a 3 years contract as one of their full time artistes.
Which TV programmes have you appeared in?
My television debut was alongside Gurmit Singh on the programme GOTCHA!
Since then, I have been on sitcoms, dramas and specials such as Can I
Help You? ,The Donny Lee Show, SHIVERS, Growing Up, Under One Roof, Three
Rooms, Phua Chu Kang and President's Star Charity, just to name a few.
What was most memorable to you during your time in TCS?
Being Highly Commended in the category for Best Performance by An Actor
in a Drama Series in the 1998 Asian Television Awards for my role as a
mentally retarded man in the drama series SHIVERS, My Brother's Keeper.
It came as a surprise as I considered myself relatively green in this
industry.
After leaving TCS, what did you do then?
When my 3 years stint with TCS was up, I decided to give theatre a try.
I did several productions for ACT 3 Theatrics Pte Ltd, Dramaplus Arts,
Hi! Theatre and Imaginarts/I Theatre. In between tight schedules, I managed
to squeeze in some time to do lead vocals for the popular Japanese cartoon
DORAEMON. It was extremely fun! Another project was with Imaginarts doing
The Magician's Uncle.
What are you currently doing?
At present, I am doing my Honours in Information Technology. I am on the
look out for more interesting projects to do, a film would be nice now
wouldn't it? |
